Steve Spence
Head Coach

A 1992 graduate of Severna Park High School, Coach Spence went on to be a standout midfielder at St. Mary's College. Graduating from St. Mary's in 1996, Spence earned first and second team all-conference honors, helping the Seahawks to a national ranking of 13 during his junior year. As a senior captain, well respected by his teammates as well as his coaches, he earned MVP honors. Beginning his career at Old Mill High School in 1999, he has turned the men's lacrosse program into a thriving culture of determination and brotherhood. He is entering his 14th year as head coach at Old Mill he plans on staying for many years to come. He started Old Line State Lacrosse Club, Inc in efforts to make summer tournament teams affordable for the players.

James McGill
Head Coach

Coach McGill was a two year starter at Arundel High School. While there, he was a captain both years. After High School, James played two years at AACC where he was a starting defenseman. James continues to play in the ALL league with Sandy Point Lacrosse Club. James has also given back to the sport by coaching at GORC for 2 years and has coached in 4 county championships, where his teams picked up two championships. James is now an assistant coach at Arundel High school where he will coach alongside Kevin Necessary. We are excited to have James with our program, where he has proven to be a great asset so far.
Kevin Necessary
Assistant Coach
Coach Kevin Necessary is a 1996 graduate of Chesapeake High School where he was an All-County, All-Metro, and All-State football and lacrosse standout. In his senior year, he was selected as a high school All-American lacrosse player. Necessary continued his lacrosse career at the University of Maryland as a defenseman, where he played for legendary coaches Dick Edell and Dave Slafkowsky from 1997-2001. In his senior year of college he was selected as the “Most Improved Player” on the Terrapin mens lacrosse team, chosen as the University of Maryland’s Male Student Athlete of the Year, and graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology. Necessary began his teaching career at Woodside and Ferndale Elementary Schools in 2001, and moved to Arundel High School in 2003. At Arundel, Kevin is a Physical Education teacher, Assistant Athletic Director, Assistant varsity boys football coach (receivers and running backs coach), and head varsity boys lacrosse coach. He received his Masters Degree in Education and Athletic Administration from Goucher College in 2008. Necessary has coached several football and lacrosse players at Arundel that have continued their athletic careers in college.

Brian McGeeney
Head Coach
Coach McGeeney graduated from Northeast High in 1995. While there, he earned 1st team all county and 1st team all Met Honors. His coaching experience started at Northeast High where he coached from 1999-2001. He then got his senses and became a head JV coach at Old Mill High School in 2002. He worked with the JV for 3 years then moved to Tennesse and became the head coach at Father Ryan. In 2005 he came back to Old Mill as a varsity coach for 3 years then transitioned to head coach at Chesapeake for a year. He has now been back since 2010 and plans on staying for a long time.
Brendan Brace
Assistant Coach

Coach Brace is in his seventh year as Head Coach at Southern High School. The Bulldawgs went to the Region Quarterfinals in 2006 and 2007, losing to the eventual state finalist in both contests. During the 2008 season the Bulldawgs advanced to the State Championship game losing to Glenelg HS(Howard Co.) 7-4. As well as coaching at Southern High School Coach Brace volunteers for SCYA lacrosse and has been involved in MSLCA selection of the Free State Team the last 4 years. He has also helped coach an Anne Arundel County HS select team, SoCo for the last four summers as well as taking a U15 Team of Anne Arundel County players to the Lake Placid Tournament last summer. Coach Brace played his college lacrosse at York College of Pennsylvania where he earned academic all conference honors and high school lacrosse at Bethpage High School in New York. Coach Brace earned his BA in Secondary Education Social Studies and had a dual major in History. He also has his Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a Focus in Leadership. Caoch Brace also coaches football at Soutehrn High School.

Justin Binnix
Head Coach

Justin Binnix first played lacrosse as a junior in High School and has been hooked ever since. Starting late, he was privileged to play for the legendary Al Laramore. Graduating from Annapolis HS in 1985, continuing to play at Clemson University and with Maryland Masters (over 35), Justin has 30+ years experience with the game and its evolution. Justin started Coaching with the BAYS organization 4 years ago as his 3 boys became interested and coaches several age groups. Coach Binnix's devotion to teaching the game and its fundamentals is why we are excited to add him to our organization. A defensive specialist, Coach Binnix will bring great intensity and vision to our players.
Jeff Williams
Assistant Coach

Coach Wiliams has been a part of the Davidson Athletic Association for more than 10 years now, coaching all age levels from Clinic to Juniors. The last two seasons, Jeff has worked with the Annapolis Bayhawks Lacrosse Club and has been an assistant coach at St. Mary's High School for the last 3 years. Jeff has a lot of playing experience as well, starting off his career at Annapolis Senior High School. From there, Jeff played in the Masters program (35 and older) and was a part of the USA England Lacrosse tour. We are very lucky to have Coach Williams and his many years experience both as a player and a coach.

Ross Fate
Co-Head Coach

Ross graduated from South River High School in 1989 and attended Fairmont State University in 1993, where he earned a B.S. in Business Mgmt/Marketing. Coach Fate has been the commission for GORC lacrosse for the last three years, as well as coaching teams for GORC for the past 8 years. He has coached all ages at the youth level and brings a wealth of experience to the Rockfish organization. Coach Fate won a County Championship in 2008 with the GORC Midget A team, where they were also State runner ups. In 2009, the Junior A team also won the County Championship and were State runner-ups. He has also coached the 2008 Youth North County All-Stars who played against the Stockport Metros from England. He will also coach the 2010 team this summer when they play Stockport. Coach Fate also has coached GORC football for 8 years. We are excited to have his knowliedge and experience as he co-coaches our U15 team this coming summer.

Chris DeBlauw
Head Coach

Coach DeBlauw graduated from Old Mill High school in 1986. He was a 4 year player for both the lacrosse and football teams. After high school, Coach DeBlauw went on to the University of Maryland where he earned a degree in Geotechnical Engineering. After college, Chris played club lacrosse. Coach DeBlauw has coached youth lacrosse for the past 7 years. He is currently boys lacrosse commissioner for Arden, an AA County recreation program. In 2007 he started a winter/indoor Youth Lacrosse Clinic in which many young lacrosse players have joined wanting to learn the fundamentals of the game. Coach DeBlauw has never been in it for profit. Everything he does is voluntary. He volunteers his time for the love of the game and his wonderful children. Coach DeBlauw coached our U-11 team last year and we are lucky to have him.

Taylor Boone
Head Coach
A 1994 graduate of Annapolis High School, Coach Boone was a 4 year starter and member of the 1994 3A-4A state championship team for Anne Arundel County coaching legend Dan Hart. As a senior, Coach Boone was selected as a 1st team All-State, All-Metro and All-County attackman along with being honored as Anne Arundel County's Player of The Year for both The Capital and Baltimore Sun newspapers. In 1995 he was a member of AACC's lacrosse team that made it to the NJCAA final four losing to the eventual National Champions Herkimer Community College in the semifinal round. Since 2001 Coach Boone has been a volunteer coach at all levels for the BAYS organization, highlighted by a Junior AA state championship in 2006. Coach Boone will concentrate on teaching the fundamentals of the game as our U13 B team coach.

Brad Smith
Coach Smith is a 2005 alumni of Old Mill High School. While at Old Mill, he broke and has earned many scoring records. Brad was honorable mention all county and the best shooter to walk through the halls of Old Mill. Brad went on to play a year at Catonsville Community College, where he earned first team all conference and all region honors. While at CCBC, Coach had 74 points. Brad took his skills to Wesley College, where he continued his great success as an all around amazing attackman. At Wesley, Brad earned first team All CAC in 2009 and was put up for the senior national game. While at Wesley, Coach Smith had over 120 points.
