Rockfish Cup 2011 Results

The Rockfish Black team came up just a little short in the final game against the Roughriders to come in 2nd place. The team played well all day winning the first three games against OC lax, Rockfish Silver and the Pride. After three back to back to back games the team was in a fine mood and laughing as their mind knew what to do but there bodies would just not cooperate. They lost to Roughriders in the fourth game but it was a well played and evenly matched game. They went and whipped up on the Tribe for the semi final game to set up the rematch between Rockfish and Roughriders. The black team played well but the Roughriders were goal hungry with limitless subs. The Rock's coaches rotated players the best they could but being short midfielders the team could not keep up.
The tournament as a whole was great, lots of team bonding and laughter on and off the field. The players saw what happens to officials when they get older and are in the sun too long. Matt Hon showed us his interesting and most of the time effective face off abilities. Dylan Hudson played excellent defense, showing that if he could not go over the opponent he would go under him to check the stick, either way Dylan played his heart out. James and Ryan again played great in the net. In a few games I thought I heard them telling the poles to 'let them through', just so they could get some action. Great Job Rockfish Black.
